Moments before the first ever Last Stand Wrestling: Defiance is about to begin we are shown shots of the fans outside the arena earlier in the night as they await the arrival of the new superstars. The streets are packed with fans, some of whom were too cheap to actually buy tickets to the show, as cars begin to arrive at the entrance to the arena's parking lot. The vast majority of the cars that pull up have tinted windows so that the occupants cannot be identified but a massive cheer goes up as a black Ferarri F430 pulls up. Like the other cars the windows are tinted, however the driver lets the window down as he pulls up next to the main group of fans. Barging into one another in order to gain a better view, arms are thrown over other's heads as camera flashes ring around the glass front of the arena in a blinding strobe like effect. A massive cheer goes up as the window reaches a level where the fans can see that inside if LSW owner Brandon Matthews. Matthews doesn't say a word, but looks around the fans as they cheer him, before pulling off again and disappearing into the arena's car park.

Inside of the arena the seats are quickly being filled by the fans, some of them arriving later than others after having to queue in a bid to stock up on oversized beverages and junk food. The arens is a wash with colour, however there are only a splattering of LSW shirts that can be spotted on fans - this being put down to little more than this being the first show. Suddenly there is a flash of lights from the staged area before the entire arena goes black. A couple of camera flashes can be seen around the arena as whistles ring out from fans. Everyones attention is then drawn to the video wall as numbers begin to appear...

Get The Fuck Up!

Fireworks of white and red fly from the turnbuckles of the ring, as well as the stage and surround of the video wall as "Sound of Madness" by Shinedown begins to blare out around the arena. The fans jump and cheer, in time with the music as the Defiance video is played out for them all to watch, to work themselves into a frenzy. The camera's scan around the arena, focussing in on a few faces as they stand out within the crowd. The fans frantically waves their arms around in the hope of getting notice while other thrust their homemade signs up into the air.

"Sound of Madness" continues to play out around the arena as the cameras take a tour of the ringside area before resting at the commenary area where we are able to see the LSW commentary team for the first time. The duo of Michael Barclay and Eric Raper takes a moment to look around at the cheering fans before looking towards the camera to begin the show.

Michael Barclay: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first ever edition of Defiance - the first show of Last Stand Wrestling. We are here tonight inside the packed Selland Arena in California for what promises to be a great night of entertainment for everyone here and those of you watching at home on television. My name is Michael Barclay and I am here to guide you through all the action here with Eric Raper.

Eric Raper: Yeah, alright dip shit. I'm sure the people tuning in know exactly what the commentators are here for.

Michael Barclay: Well I can see this is going to be an interesting partnership.

Eric Raper: Saying it like that makes you sound nothing but bent, just get on with the show.

Michael Barclay seems a little taken back by the comments of his inexperienced co-worker but shakes it off in a professional manner to turn back towards the camera and continue his introduction of the show.

Michael Barclay: Tonight we will see everyone currently on the LSW roster in action. Though the numbers may be small Brandon Matthews has decided to go ahead with the show in a bid to show the World exactly what Last Stand Wrestling is capable of. We will see Jay Cool and Axl Dempsey squaring off in the first bout of the night as well as being able to watch William Diamond and Sam Manson battle it out. Also, we must not forget the debut of Ravyn, who we have heard so much about in the news recently. Finally we will see the main event which pits Dean Hobkirk against Austin St James as the roster jostles for ranking in their new surroundings.

Eric Raper: Are we going to get on with things soon because you are boring the crap out of me.

Michael Barclay: I was getting to that bit, as right now we head backstage to meet LSW's Backstage beauty Kerin Atcher.

Eric Raper: I tell you what, I passed her in the corridor earlier and must admit I got a bit of a semi just from seeing her.

Michael Barclay: Do you always talk in that manner?

Eric Raper: I'm just saying she's hot, dude.

As Michael Barlcay and Eric Raper are clearing struggling to get to grips with each others personalities at ringside the camera fades to the backstage area where we can see Kerin Atcher as she stands with a corridor wall to her back. She smiles weetly, obviously excited to be on television in her first paid role.

Kerin Atcher: Just like the fans inside the arena tonight I am so psyched to be here at the first ever Defiance and I am stood here outside the dressing room of Jay Cool who was the first man to sign a wrestling contract here in Last Stand Wrestling. We know that Jay is already inside the arena tonight as he compete is the first match of the evening, so I am going to try and get a few words with him.

The camera pans around to the left where we can see the locker room door sporting the name of Jay Cool.Cautiously, Kerin walks up to the door, placing a light knock unpon the door. Heavy metal can be heard blaring out from inside the room, and there is no answer to the knock. A much heavier bang is landed upon the door and within a few seconds the music within the room has been turned down. A couple more seconds pass and Jay Cool opens the door to his locker room sprting a T-Shirt coining the phrases "Your Momma's Welcome". He looks at Kerin Atcher, smiling as he glances her up and down.

Jay Cool: And how can I help you pretty lady?

Kerin Atcher: I was wondering if I could have a few words with you about your debut here in LSW.

Jay Cool: We'll why don't you come on inside and we'll talk a little more privately.

Kerin Atcher: I was kind of hoping to get it on camera, it's my first time.

Jay Cool: You kinky bitch!

Kerin Atcher seems a little taken back by Cool's comment until she realises that he has been refering to sex thus far. Knowing that trying to explain things would only cause her embarrasment, Atcher decided to try and move on with the interview.

Kerin Atcher: You are just moments away from your first match here in Last Stand Wrestling, against Axl Dempsey. Dempsey is seen as a high flyer with a lot of potential. Are you worried this young gun could ruin a perfect start in LSW for you?

Jay Cool: Whatever happens in the ring happens, but I am not going to walk into a match looking for defeat. Jay Cool has won his fair share of battles to know that you have to give everything in that ring and that is exactly what I intended to do tonight when Axl Dempsey steps into the kid. To be honest, I feel kind of sorry for the kid, he is being thrown in at the deep end and I just hope he can swim otherwise he could drown on LSW's first show.

Kerin Atcher: So I take it your confident of the win?

Jay Cool: Baby, when your Jay Cool there is no need to be confident!

Jay points the wink and gun in Kerin Atcher's direction before smiling and closing the door on the young interviewer. Atcher seems quite shocked that the interview has already come to an end, but I guess that's what you get got trying to grab a wrestler just before an important match - as any debut match is.

Kerin Atcher: Back to you guys at ringside.

Michael Barclay: Cool trying it on with our new Miss Atcher there.

Eric Raper: Hands off Jay, She's mine.

Michael Barclay: I'm sure it was nothing more than harmless fun, but it's time to see what Cool's like in the ring.

Eric Raper: Great, we finally gonna kick this shit off.

Michael Barclay: If that's how you want to put it, I will simply say it's time for the first ever Last Stand Wrestling fight so let's get to the ring to meet the competitors Axl Dempsey and Jay Cool.

AXL DEMPSEY Vs. JAY COOL
Singles Match

A cheer goes up from the fans as the camera's focus on the ring as the lights in the arena dim down to a low-light.

"When It's Time To Party
You Know We'll Party Hard!
"

The heavy yet melodic "Party Hard" by Andrew WK begins to blast out around the arena as the fans are brought to their feet in cheers. The stage area is a wash with flashing orange and red lights as Axl Dempsey bounces his way out from behind the stage curtain to greet the fans. He stands at the top of the ramp before tugging on the front of his t-shirt 3 times and throwing his arms into the air at the top of the ramp as an extra cheer goes up from the fans.

Denika Andersen: Making his way to the ring, the first wrestler to make hsi way to the ring on a LSW show...from Southampton, England and weighing in at 232 lbs...please welcome AXL DEMPSEY.

Dempsey looks up around the fans for a moment before beginning to sprint down the ramp, sliding under the bottom rope smoothly into the ring. He quickly pouches to his feet before running to the far turnbuckle and jumping up onto it. He looks out over the fans, performing his shirt tugs and throws his arms up into the air once more. As the fans continue to cheer, Axl graduates from the second turnbuckle where he is stood - to standing on the top turnbuckle. In a quick and fluid move he throws himself backwards in a moonsault to stand on his feet in the ring, ready to compete.

Denika Andersen: And his opponent, from London, England and weighing 210 lbs...the self proclaimed "Gift of the Gods"...please welcome JAY COOL.

"Bitches" by Mindless Self Indulgence begins to blast out of the PA System installed in the arena as a couple of jeer's go up, as the music continues Jay Cool comes strutting out from behind the stage curtain to stand in front of the fans who seems to have taken an instant dislike to his cocky attitude, well a few at least. The jeers don't bother Jay though as he begins his walk down the ramp towards the ring. He pauses for a moment outside the ring, looking up at Axl Dempsey who is in the ring stretching, before making his way up the steel steps and into the ring. Both men avoid each other in the ring as Jay Cool moves past Dempsey in the ring to face the fans on the far side of the ring and throw his arms into the air.

Michael Barclay: This is it ladies and gentlemen, the start of the first LSW match.

Eric Raper: Who cares? They are both nothing wrestlers.

Michael Barclay: I beg to differ. I reckon they can put on a good show here.

Eric Raper: I hope your right, coz sitting next to you is sending me to sleep.

The bell rings and Jay Cool and Axl Dempsey made a couple of steps towards each other. We can clearly see each wrestler trash talking the other as they stalk each other around the ring in a circle, neither seemingly willing to make the first move.

Eric Raper: Come on, one of you do something.

Just as Raper speaks, Axl Dempsey stops moving around the ring and squares up to Jay Cool. Cool follows suit, standing in front of Dempsey. The two stare at each other for a moment before Axl suddenly reaches out plants an open handed slap across the face of Jay Cool. Inscenced, Cool goes for Dempsey, but he is too quickly and drops to take Cool down with a drop toe hold.

Michael Barclay: The match is underway.

Dempsey is quick to move from the legs of Jay Cool to lock in a leg lock on his downed opponent. Dempsey angles back as to put more pressure on the neck and head of Jay Cool. Cool lets out a cry of pain before pushing himself up so that he is on all four, before finding the strength to lift himself to his feet...taking Dempsey off the floor as he tries to maintain the headlock.

Michael Barclay: Great show of power there by Jay Cool.

Eric Raper: Yeah but what's he going to do now? He just has him hanging there.

Jay Cool holds Axl Dempsey as he hangs off his neck before pushing him up into the air, Dempsey landing flat on his back with a thud.

Eric Raper: Ok, I guess that answered that.

Jay Cool is quick to leap on Dempsey as he is down, landing a few stiff kicks to his back that echo out around the arena.

Michael Barclay: Jay Cool looks like he is getting Dempsey back for that slap.

Eric Raper: Only women slap, so by that ruling Dempsey must be a he-she.

Michael Barclay: I can we are going to get a lot of sense out of you during your time here.

Eric Raper: My time? How about your time bitch? I'm here for life.

Dempsey rolls over to get away from Jay Cool but the kicks continue to come and Dempsey is forced to roll out of the ring to the floor so that he is able to catch his breathe. Jay Cool turns his back to Dempsey as he raises his arms up into the air, a small section of the arena boo'ing him as he does so.

Michael Barclay: some fans seem to have taken a dislike to Jay Cool already.

With Cool distracted by the fans Dempsey see's his chance to take the upper hand. He quickly scurries onto the apron before sprigboarding into the ring, landing on Jay Cool to hit him with a bulldog.

Michael Barclay: cool planted face down by Dempsey there, can he now take the upper hand?

Eric Raper: Jay Cool's nose is going to be flat after that.

With Jay Cool down on the mat, Axl Dempsey rushes to the corner wher he quickly mounts the second turnbuckle to wait for Cool to get to his feet. Soon enough Cool is back up standing but as he turns to face Dempsey, Dempsey lanches himself into him with a flying forearm that smashes against his nose.

Eric Raper: Dempsey is actually trying to flatten it.

Michael Barclay: Axl once again working the face of Jay Cool, that has got to effect the vision of his opponent.

Cool lands on the canvas against as Axl Dempsey is quickly back to his feet, a few of the fans cheering as he throws his arms into the air. Cool lays on his back, clutching his nose as Dempsey throws himself off the ropes before dropping down on Cool's face again with a leg drop. Jay Cool yells out in pain, Dempsey shouting with joy as he get to his feet again to look down on Cool. Dempsey then points to the top rope which recieves a cheer from the fans.

Michael Barclay: Looks like Dempsey is going for ahigh risk move here.

Eric Raper: Finally, some proper action.

Dempsey quickly pops out of the ring and jumps up to the top rope where he looks down on Jay Cool. After a second of observing he launches himself off the top rope, twisting in the air to land down hard on Jay Cool's chest with a corkscrew splash.

Michael Barclay: Big hit there by Dempsey, Jay Cool just had all the air in his body forced out.

Eric Raper: Sick move, but it looks like Dempsey hurt himself as he landed.

Dempsey rolls off of Jay Cool clutching at his shoulder. Axl quickly curls himself up in a ball and is clearly in a great amount of pain.

Michael Barclay: This doesn't look good for Dempsey.

Cool is still down in the ring, but has started to move following the impact and has seen that AXl Dempsey is down. Cool sits himself up and looks at Dempsey who has not moved since landing.

Michael Barclay: Things don't look good for Dempsey here.

Jay Cool slowly raises himself to his feet and begins to walk over to Dempsey. Ref Roger Humphries is already checking on Axl but takes a step back from Dempsey indicating he is ok to continue.

Michael Barclay: Axl doesn't look in a good way but Roger Humphries is going to let this go on.

Cool grabs a fist full of Dempsey's hair and pulls him to his feet. As Dempsey rises up we can see that his left shoulder is much higer than the right and his arm seems pretty useless.

Michael Barclay: It looks like Axl Dempsey's shoulder is disclocated.

Eric Raper: Quality. Let Jay Cool smash it back in.

Jay Cool seems to play little attention to the fact that Dempsey is suffering with his shoulder as he kicks him in the midsection setting him up for a powerbomb. Jay Cool hoists him up onto his shoulders but instead of throwing him down into the powerbomb, Jay Cool simply pushes Dempsey up into the air and drops him on his side so that he lands on his injuried arm.

Michael Barclay: That can't be good for Dempsey's shoulder.

Axl Dempsey instantly cries out in pain as he lands and rolls onto his back, kicking his legs against the canvas and clutching his arm. Jay Cool ignores this as he casually covers Dempsey.

...One!

...Two!

...Thrrr...

Kick out by Axl Dempsey as he throws the injuried arm up into the air, his shoulder seeming to drop by into place as he does so.

Eric Raper: What the fuck? Dempsey just popped his own shoulder back in and kicked out at the sametime.

Michael Barclay: A great show of guts there by the young man, I thought it was over.

Jay Cool cannot believe that Dempsey has kicked out and looks at the ref in disbelief for a moment before reaching down to grab a handful of Axl's hair. He takes Dempsey by the head as pulls him up as Cool himself is getting to his feet.

Eric Raper: Jay looks pissed Axl pissed out.

Michael Barclay: I hope for his own sake Dempsey can get back in this match otherwise he could have problems.

Jay Cools pulls Dempsey with him into the corner where he throws Axl against the turnbuckle and begins to pound away on him. Punches and chops are thrown into Dempsey's chest before a few stomps cause Axl to falls to the floor in the corner. With Dempsey down, Jay Cool forces his foot into the throat of Axl Dempsey to choke him.

Michael Barclay: Roger Humphries better get in there, Cool is blatantly choking Dempsey.

Humphries is soon on the scene, giving an extented 4 count before pulling Cool away from Dempsey who gasps for his breathe on the floor.

Eric Raper: Doesn't look like Dempsey will last much longer.

Jay Cool only gives Dempsey a second or so before moving back towards him, once again grabbing his hair to pull him up to his feet. Pushing him up against the corner, he grabs Dempsey's arm before pulling back and Irish whipping him with force into the diagonal turnbuckle. Dempsey crashes into the corner and once again hits the floor. There is little time for him to rest though as Jay Cool is quickly upon him once more, again pushing him back into the corner and whipping him into the opposite turnbuckle. There is no time for Dempsey to hit the floor this time though as no sooner is he in the corner, Jay Cool comes running in to land a splash on the trapped Dempsey.

Michael Barclay: Jay Cool is really taking the upper hand now.

Eric Raper: It's only a matter of time before Dempsey is rolled over, he is hardly defending himself.

As Jay Cool moves back after landing on Dempsey, Dempsey stumbles forward but is quickly floored as Cool lashing out with a vicious clothesline that cracks against him chin. Dempsey lays on the floor almost motionless as Roger Humphries pushes Jay Cool out the way so that he can check on him.

Michael Barclay: Roger has got to be careful here, the last thing we want is a major injury on the first night of Last Stand Wrestling.

Eric Raper: It's Dempsey's own fault. He should have made sure he was in fit condition to compete.

After a short period Roger Humphries steps away from Dempsey signalling that he is happy for the match to conitnue. Jay Cool doesn't waste anytime in moving back in on Dempsey, kicking him in the chest to prevent him from sitting up as he had been trying to do.

Michael Barclay: Jay Cool doesn't want to give Demspey a chance to get back into this one.

Jay continues to pound away on the down Dempsey and eventually kicks him so him that he falls from the ring apron, landing at the ringside area. Learning from previously when Dempsey was outside, Cool gives him little time alone out there as he quickly rolls under the bottom rope to join him outside. Dempsey is trying to pull himself up on the outside using the ring to help him, but he is aided as Jay Cool comes over and helps him up, if only for a moment as he lifts him to slam him down.

Michael Barclay: That has got to hurt. That matting outside is only thin.

Eric Raper: Shut up you pussy.

Michael Barclay: It's a fact.

Demspey is clearly hurt by the slam but instead of leaving him outside to face a count, Jay Cool picks Dempsey up and throws him back into the ring. Jay Cool turns to soak up the boo's of the fans who have taken offense to him before reentering the ring. There he grabs Axl Dempsey, who has managed to get himself to his feet, and push him against the ropes. Jay Cool swings Dempsey across the ring to bounce him off the far ropes. As Dempsey returns towards him, Cool steadies himself ready with another vicious clothesline, but as Cool swings Dempsey ducks under his arm.

Michael Barclay: Dempsey trying to fight back.

Dempsey stops running as soon as he is under Cool's arm and as soon as Cool turns around he jumps to clock him on the side of the head with a flying Inziguri to the side of the head.

Michael Barclay: Out of no where Axl Dempsey hits the Quick Kiss.

Eric Raper: What the hell?

Jay Cool is clearly stunned and drops to the floor, Axl Dempsey wastes no time in jumping on him and hooking the legs for the pin. Jay Cool can clearly been seen struggling to break thee pin as Roger Humphries gets down for the count.

...One!

...Two!

...Three!!!

Eric Raper: How did he manage that?

Michael Barclay: A moment of brilliance from Axl Dempsey has got him the win here.

Eric Raper: A moment of brilliance? He stole that match.

Dempsey releases the pin after getting the win, but is obviously still feeling the effects of Jay Cool's attacks as he simply lays in the ring. Jay Cool is very clearly insensed by the fact he has lost and quickly moves to shout at the ref who points out he simply made a count.

Eric Raper: Jay Cool looks pissed.

Cool turns to look at Dempsey as he lays in the centre of the ring. He moves in on him and stomps on his chest, Roger Humphries quickly runs over to tell him to stop but Jay ignore him as he again stamps on Dempsey before pulling him up to his feet. Dempsey is quickly set into a powerbomb but instead of being dropped on his back, Axl is thrown down in a facebuster - Jay Cool's finisher Y2J.

The bell rings as Jay Cool's theme - "Bitches" - beings to play out around the arena and Jay Cool lifts himself to his feet. A large number of boo's echo around the arena as Jay Cool raises his arms up. A EMT who is on hand quickly slides into the ring and begins to tend to Axl Dempsey who is clearly still in agony. Jay Cool looks down at Axl Dempsey and laughs as the EMT tries to help him from the ring without causing him any further pain. Jay Cool stays in the ring for a moment, soaking in the jeers of the few fans who have taken a dislike to him.

WINNER: Axl Dempsey

Michael Barclay: A win here for Axl Dempsey but Jay Cool has had the last word tonight.

Eric Raper: Dempsey stole the win there. Jay Cool was in control. He hit one move and tried to run.

Michael Barclay: I wouldn't say he ran...he took the chance. Thanks to that he has won his first match in Last Stand Wrestling, but you have to wonder at what cost. His shoulder early on and then the attack at the end when already hurt as to take it's toll.

Eric Raper: It's his job to get beaten up, if he were better at his job then maybe he wouldn't get hurt as much.

Michael Barclay: Maybe, but the records show he took the win here tonight, and for now that's all that matters.

We cut away to a pre-recorded segment that begins with nothing but static on the screen for a few seconds before the picture comes to life and the camera starts to autofocus, revealing a rather nice shot of a concrete floor. The camera pans up then in this rather dark little room and we can see the low ceiling that has a bulb hanging from it that’s rocking ever so slightly back and forth. The camera pans around and we see a bed in the corner that’s not been made and a bunch of clothes lying by the foot of the bed that haven’t been put in the drawers next to them. The little room seems anything but organised. The camera continues to pan around to reveal a large wall with a Polaroid picture of James Gabriel hanging from it, a pin through his face to keep the picture hanging from the wall. The camera zooms in on the picture, confirming for the viewers at home that it is indeed James Gabriel, long time professional wrestling veteran and the picture seems to have been taken rather lately. He’s not looking at the camera either, or posed in any way, and there’s every chance that the picture was taken without him even knowing about it. As we zoom back out from the wall whoever is holding the camera seems to jerk a little in surprise as they spot a man now kneeling by the wall not far from the photograph. He’s wearing a red and black mask and a matching red, white and black suit that covers his entire body from head to toe. On the front of the suit in clearly large letters are the words “NATHANIEL HARDCASTLE”. To complete this rather bizarre sight the only thing that doesn’t match the rest of the outfit that this man is wearing, which appears to be entirely custom made, is the fact that he’s also wearing a black leather collar with a chain hanging from it. He tilts his head to the side as the black patches in the mask where his eyes should be seem to stare soullessly in to the camera. Finally the piece is interrupted by the sound of a voice of a young woman who sounds almost cute and bubbly and doesn’t fit at all the words she’s saying.

...: “Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'”

The camera moves slightly to the side as the girl we’ve all come to know as Ravyn Taylor walks in to shot wearing knee high black boots, a short leather mini-skirt and a red closet that gives her body a fantastic, curved appeal. Her hair is hanging loosely and she’s wearing deep red lipstick that matches the colour of the corset.

“Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore -
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Nameless here for evermore.”

She smiles an almost demented smile at the camera, staring with a soulless look in her eyes as she continues quoting the poem from memory.

“And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me - filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating
`'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door -
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; -
This it is, and nothing more,'”

She continues smiling as she continues to walk along the wall and the camera slowly tracks her as she rubs her hand long the wall as she walks.

“Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
`Sir,' said I, `or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you' - here I opened wide the door; -
Darkness there, and nothing more.”

She stops then, staring straight in to the camera as though peering through the darkness herself.

“Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before
But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore!'
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore!'
Merely this and nothing more.”

She smiles, theatrically turning away and looking in the direction she just came from.

“Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning,
Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before.
`Surely,' said I, `surely that is something at my window lattice;
Let me see then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore -
Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore; -
'Tis the wind and nothing more!'”

She reaches out, pretending to open a window as she does so.

“Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door -
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.”

She turns to the camera and grins the widest grin she’s had so far.

“Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
`Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven.
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore -
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'”

She stops then and holds out her arms as though greeting a friend of a loved one.

Ravyn Taylor: Welcome people of Last Stand Wrestling to my nest, my name is Ravyn Taylor and tonight I will set foot in the professional wrestling ring for the very first time. At this moment you’re probably asking yourself why I would begin by quoting from a poem written in 1845 by a man named Edgar Allan Poe, a genius who wrote the first thing to ever truly scare me, the first thing to ever truly inspire me and the first thing to ever really open my eyes, and he wrote this masterpiece of modern literature an incredible one hundred and forty five years before I was even born.

She nods slowly, looking down as though mourning his passing.

Ravyn Taylor: It is from this poem that I took my name, inspired by the ebony bird that drove the scholar who tells the tale insane by only ever repeating one word that seemed to answer his every question, “nevermore”. As you may have noticed however I have a far more advanced vocabulary than that raven of the fable but as you will all become aware in due course wherever I go there comes with me a man who has an even more limited vocabulary than that raven. His name is Nathaniel Hardcastle and he, quite frankly, is my bitch.

She grins evilly at the camera before nodding her head encouragingly.

Ravyn Taylor: His origins are, for now, none of your concern, and neither is the face that he hides underneath his mask. All that matters as far as you people are concerned is that I do go anywhere in this world without Nathaniel watching my back and so if the mentally inferior of this world think they can overwhelm me with their size and strength then they are sorely mistake. My body may be only that of a nineteen year old girl but my mind is that of a goddess with potential far greater than you mere peons could ever dream. This body however has needs, one such need it seems after being locked away in a mental institute my whole life is the need to feel pain.

She bites her bottom lip and squeezes her breasts together even more with her upper arms as she leads in toward the camera and moans seductively.

Ravyn Taylor: I know that right now there’s plenty of you big, strong little boys who are probably reaching in to your pants to grab hold of your erect little penises and pleasure yourself to the image of me standing here and telling you that I get off on feeling pain and I know that there are so many women out there that are disgusted by your actions but I assure you that I am not one of them. Those women are programmed to think and behave a certain way, the way that society tells them to behave, but you little boys are much more animalistic than that, aren’t you? You see something you desire and your body reacts to the hormones that are pumped in to your blood and your penises get hard just looking. I know what you all want, but I assure you that there comes a price attached to the object that you desire, a price that none of you would be willing to pay.

She smiles sadistically and grabs hold of the chain attached to the collar around her minion’s neck, running it through her fingers for a moment before pulling it suddenly and Nathaniel leaps to her side like a well trained dog.

Ravyn Taylor: Don’t worry though little children, I have plans for so many of you and maybe some of you will get to experience every one of your fantasies, all you’ve got to do is figure out what it is that I desire and find a way to give it to me. For tonight however I’ll settle just for the enjoyment that I will take from making James Gabriel all hot and sweaty, from the pleasure I will derive every time he tries to cause me pain and from the joy I will experience when he’s left beaten, battered and humiliated in the middle of the ring.

She grins that sick, sadistic grin again before leaping in closer to the camera and whispering.

Ravyn Taylor: Are you horny baby? I know I am...

She theatrically throws her hands up in terror suddenly.

Ravyn Taylor: “`Prophet!' said I, `thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil! -
Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted -
On this home by horror haunted - tell me truly, I implore -
Is there - is there balm in Gilead? - tell me - tell me, I implore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'”

She grins widely again before waving cutely at the camera.

Ravyn Taylor: I’ll see you tonight boys, I hope you’ll be thinking about me. Tee-Tee-Eff-En!

And with that the footage cuts back to static again, before fading slowly to black.

The camera's fade back up in the backstage area where we can see Sam Manson leaving his locker room. In his wrestling attire, walking through the backstage corridor toward the stage Manson, being an unknown, only draws a lukewarm reaction from the live audience watching on the video wall.

Michael Barclay: That young man you see there is Sam Manson, fresh off the heels of the intense training he did under wrestling hall of famer Jeffery Wolfe, he will be making his professional wrestling debut next against William Diamond.

Eric Raper: He has a lot to do to impress me. Diamond is a legend in my eyes.

Michael Barclay: Sam Manson is said to have been a stand-out student at that academy, as well as a master in the art of Kendo, he promises great things for his tenure in LSW.

Eric Raper: The time for talking is over, and he must put up or shut up here tonight.

As Sam proceeds through the corridor, he walks past Kerin Atcher; the attractive young interviewer catches up with Sam.

Kerin Atcher: Sam Manson, is that right?

Sam Manson: Yes Miss. Atcher, that is correct.

Kerin Atcher: Sam, tonight you make your professional wrestling debut here on Defiance, not only is this your debut, but this is also the debut of Last Stand Wrestling, I know that I feel overjoyed to be a part of this history making night, how do you feel?

Sam Manson: You’re absolutely correct Miss. Atcher, this night is a history making night in the world of professional wrestling, and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of history. Wrestling on the first ever card of a promotion that promises to be huge. I will add to this feeling by emerging victorious is my match tonight against William Diamond.

Kerin Atcher: Speaking of that, William Diamond is an established and accomplished athlete in this sport, where as you are one of the youngest wrestlers currently on the scene, and have just finished your training. How do you intend on winning your match if the odds are obviously stacked against you?

Sam Manson: Well Miss. Atcher, if I told you that I would’ve ruined my entire plan for the match. You’ll just have to see what I do in the ring; it will be at that point when you, as well as the fans in attendance will find the answers to their questions. I’m sure this interview is currently being shown the entire live audience, yet I haven’t even heard a reaction of any sort from them. I expected that much Miss. Atcher, I don’t expect to be loved upon my entry into the business, I plan on earning the respect of my fans and peers, this is true.

Kerin Atcher: Well thank you Sam, and good luck tonight.

Sam Manson: Anytime Miss. Atcher.

Sam walks off screen as Kerin Atcher looks into the camera and speaks.

Kerin Atcher: Well ladies and gentlemen, there you have it, Sam Manson, definitely a unique person, let’s see how he fares in the ring.

At the moment, Sam walks back on screen.

Sam Manson: Just one more thing Miss. Atcher, I’d like to say that win or lose, I guarantee that what everybody sees from me in the ring tonight will be unlike anything they have ever witnessed inside of the squared circle. That is a promise from the Ace of Deception.

Sam Manson walks off again, the camera's following him as he continues his walk through the backstage area before fading back to ringside.

Michael Barclay: Manson seems confident.

Eric Raper: And I am sure William Diamond is even more confident. He knows he has this in the bag.

Michael Barclay: I guess there is only one way we are going to find out which will win.

SAM MANSON Vs. WILLIAM DIAMOND
Singles Match

Both commentators look towards the ring to see that William Diamond is already standing in the middle of the ring, awaiting his opponent to enter.

Eric Raper: Whoa? When did Diamond get here?

Michael Barclay: Well the man doesn’t really have any theme listed on our site so maybe he just likes to enter nonchalantly.

Denika Andersen: And his opponent Calgary, Alberta, Canada, weighing in at 200 pounds, he is Sam Manson!

"Are You Ready" by Creed begins playing over the PS system as the fans begin to cheer. Sam Manson walks out from behind the curtain as the cheers grow louder. He walks down the ramp, slapping hands with the fans on the way down, he moves around the ringside area slapping hands with the fans before climbing onto the crowd barrier and posing while facing the cheering fans. He jumps off the crowd barrier and slides under the bottom rope. Inside the ring he climbs to the middle turnbuckle and poses once again for the fans before the music fades out.

Eric Raper: You can tell that Sam is confident.

Michael Barclay: I guess we’ll see if you’re right and he can pull off the victory.

Both Sam and Diamond circle the ring, staring each other down. Finally the bell rings and Diamond comes out of no where looking for a clothesline. But Sam ducks it and bounces off the ropes, drop kicking Diamond in to the ropes. Diamond bounces off and Sam gives him a monkey flip, sending Diamond on his back in the middle of the ring.

Michael Barclay: Great quickness by Sam.

Eric Raper: Diamond can’t even get a hand on him.

Diamond finds his way back up and Sam grabs a hold of him and tries to whip him into the ropes, but Diamond reverses and sends Sam into the ropes instead. Diamond bends over looking for a back body drop, but Sam kicks him in the gut and then follows up with a quick neck breaker that takes them both to the ground. Manson is quick to get up as he gives Diamond a hard kick to the side followed by a big leg drop. Manson picks Diamond up and gives him a few hard chops to the chest until he is backed up against the ropes. This time Manson succeeds in whipping Diamond into the ropes and on his way back Manson gives Diamond a spinning elbow right into the back of the head. The blow drops Diamond to his knees and Manson drop kicks him in the side of the head and goes for the pin.

...One!

...Tw...

Kickout. Diamond doesn’t look too pleased as both he and Sam get up at the same time. Diamond is quick to grab a hold of his hair searching to gain any edge he can. But Sam retaliates and gives him a hard knee in the gut. He then hits him with a DDT, which takes both of them to the ground. Sam gets up while Diamond is still on the ground as he gets up and does a back flip, landing on top of Diamond. But Sam doesn’t go for the pin as he pulls Diamond up and starts sending knife edge chops to his chest. Diamond is reeling back and is stuck in the corner now. Sam backs up to the other corner and starts running towards Diamond looking for a possible clothesline, but instead he is taken down with a hard clothesline by Diamond instead.

Michael Barclay: That wasn’t pretty.

Eric Raper: Almost looked like a car wreck.

Diamond picks up Sam and drops his with a body slam. He backs up and bounces off the ropes, looking for a leg drop but Sam moves out of the way and all Diamond catches is mat. Sam gets up and quickly kicks a seated Diamond in the jaw, and then picks him up, sending a few elbows to his face. He kicks Diamond in the gut and then follows up with a Hurricanrana, sending Diamond back down to the ground. Diamond looks like he’s having trouble getting up as Sam comes out of no where, with the (Lou) Thesz Press, taking Diamond down and throwing several closed hand shots to his face. The ref almost has to pull Sam off of Diamond. But he just goes back to kicking him in the side of the gut.

Eric Raper: Oh this guy is just a mean one when you piss him off.

Michael Barclay: I’ll say. And he’s a very talented wrestler, Mansons has been controlling the pace of this match from the beginning.

Eric Raper: I love his enthusiasm but if he’s not careful he could get DQed in this match.

Diamond starts to bring himself up as Sam looks for a clothesline, but Diamond ducks it, but before he can counter Sam comes up with a bull dog that sends Diamond back to the ground. Sam starts to clime to the top rope, his back turned towards Diamond.

Michael Barclay: What is he doing?

Diamond starts to make his way up and he sees Sam going to the top. He immediately runs up the turnbuckle and grabs a hold of him, looking to do some top rope suplex. But Sam sends a few elbows to Diamond’s face, and Diamond fall to the ground. Sam then takes off and hits a picture perfect moonsult of the top rope to pin Diamond.

...One!

...Two!

...Thrr...

Eric Raper: Wow, I almost thought Sam had that one won right there.

Michael Barclay: He was just a mila second away from winning too.

The moonsault has taken a lot out of Manson as he is still trying to get up when instead Diamond gets up and looks to gain the early advantage by running towards Sam, but Sam comes out of no where with a jumping knee to the face. Diamond is knocked into the ropes as he holds his nose, and Sam takes no time hitting Diamond with a hard belly to belly suplex. But Diamond is back up as fast as he went down, but is soon sent down again with a hard spine buster. Diamond goes down hard as Sam goes for the pin.

...One!

...Two!

...Thre...

Michael Barclay: Not enough.

Eric Raper: I can’t imagine Diamond being able to take much more of this.

Manson looks frustrated as he has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Diamond. So instead of looking for a move that will pin Diamond, he instead goes for, and successfully locks in the sharpshooter on Diamond. Diamond squirms around a little bit, but is to close to the ropes and grabs a hold of them. The ref comes in and breaks the hold. Manson then picks Diamond up and holds him up in the air with a military press before dropping Diamond face first on the ground.

Michael Barclay: What strength. I don’t know many men that size that can do that

Eric Raper: I don’t know many men period that can do something like that!

Sam but he brings Diamond up, setting up and drop kicks him into the corner. Sam brings his self up and leaps into the corner, hitting Diamond with the Final Encounter. He goes for the pin.

...One!

...Two!

...Three!!!.

Denika Andersen: Here is your winner by pin fall, Sam Manson.

WINNER:

Eric Raper: And that’s all she wrote, Sam picks up the victory.

Michael Barclay: That’s one less person with an undefeated streak.

Eric Raper: But one more starts one up here in LSW.

Sam rolls out of the ring as he happily walks up the ramp with his hands in the air.

Michael Barclay: Right now Ladies and Gentlemen we are going to go to a short commercial break.

Eric Raper: Normally my favourite part of any show.

Michael Barclay: Doesn't make the shows you watch sound any good.

Eric Raper: Most the shows I watch are porn so the adverts are just offers of more porn...you can't go wrong.

Michael Barclay: Thanks for that insight into your World, Eric.

Eric Raper simply looks at Michael Barclay and pulls an overexaggerated smile. Barclay raises his eyebrows and looks away from Eric.

Michael Barclay: Wel'll be right back.

PART TWO

The fans are taking a break from the action of the first LSW Defiance, as we come back from the commercials, washing down undercooked hotdog with oversized plastic cups holding caffine charged beverages. The large video wall to the left of the main stage is suddenly brought to life with the initals of the company in large red letters.

L . S . W

The fans begins to roar back into life as "Psychosocial" by SlIpKnOt begins to flow out of the speakers around the arena. Red and white strobe lights fill the stage as Brandon Matthews comes running out to the top of the ramp, the cheers ever increasing as he goes.

Michael Barclay: It seems as though now we are going to be joined by our companies owner.

Eric Raper: Yeah, my boy Brandon coming to see me at work.

Michael Barclay: I hardly think that is the case. He's the boss.

Eric Raper: Whatever Mikey, me and Brandz are tight.

Brandon Matthews stands at the top of the ramp a smile beaming from his face as he looks out around the arena to see all the fans cheering back at him. Matthews takes a moment to survey the crowd before walking towards the video wall to point at the LSW that is still prominent upon the screen. A extra burst of celebration goes up from the fans as Brandon Matthews makes his way back towards the top of the ramp, being handed a microphone from a stage hand who quickly disappears.

Brandon Matthews: Let me firstly start by saying how pleased I am to see so many of you fans turning up here for the opening of Last Standing Wrestling. I don't want to come off as a weak man, but it really warms the heart to know that you are here cheering for something that I created - simply because you recognize the quality that we have here in LSW. We may not have the biggest, strongest roster but those we have are full of heart, desire and passion. You are here...because we put entertainment and YOU first.

A cheer once again goes up from the fans as a smile once again crosses the face of the LSW Owner.

Brandon Matthews: What you have seen here tonight is nothing short of brilliant. Men and women who have put there bodies on the line not just for your entertainment, but also because they believe in the dream and the essences that is LSW. With every passing day the LSW grows stronger in both numbers and fan base. My goal has never been for Last Stand Wrestling to stand back in the shadows, but to instead be a driving force for wrestling, and to take over the wrestling world by any means necessary.

Michael Barclay: What do you think he means by that?

Eric Raper: Shut up and maybe you’ll find out.

Brandon Matthews: With that being said, my reason for being out here this evening is simple...and that is to announce the first Pay-Per-View to be held by Last Stand Wrestling. Though tonight is just our first show we are looking to the future and that starts with the foundations of our first major event. So tonight, I am pleased to announce that on Sunday 12th July 2009 Last Stand Wrestling will take over the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas to bring Unleashed to you live and exclusively on Pay-Per-View.

Brandon Matthews drops his microphone to his side as "Psychosocial" begins to play out around the arena. The fans cheers as he holds his arms up in the air, pointing again at the LSW logo on the videowall before disappearing behind the stage curtain. The cheers hold for a minute as Brandon's music continues to play out around the arena before this theme and the logo on the video wall begin to fade out.

Michael Barclay: A short and sweet visit from our owner there, but one that could have a major impact on LSW.

Eric Raper: Major impact? We all knew we were going to be having Pay-Per-View here.

Michael Barclay: Yes, we did...but we didn't know when it was going to be smart ass.

Eric Raper: Speak for yourself. Like I said, me and Brandz are tight. I find out everything before you low-lifes.

Michael Barclay: Low-lifes? You are sitting on the same perch of LSW as me buddy-boy...only my pay cheque is bigger.

Eric Raper: Fuck this. I don't need to sit here and be bitched on by some old wrinkly.

Eric Raper gets to his feet from the ringside commentary desk, throwing his headset down on the desk. The fans around the ringside who have seen things kicking off being to cheer and shout as the cameras move in to get a better look at what is going on. The cheers have soon filled the arena as the cameras project the image of Eric Raper quickly making his way up the ramp away from his position as one of the commentary team.

Michael Barclay: Er, it seems as if I will be bringing the rest of the show to you on my own Ladies and Gentlemen as my commentary partner has decided he has better things to do than work for his cheque. I'm not quite sure what I said to piss the little upstart off but either way we are not going to linger on that fact as we have got to get on with the show. Right now we are going to show a pre-record video from LSW new comer, Ashton Daniels.

The video wall comes to live and on the screen appears a pre-taped message from one of the many new talents signed to LSW in the past couple of weeks. Ashton Daniels who filmed a short message from his home in Miami, Florida is sat down in his lounge wearing a pair of white Quicksilver beach shorts and a black LSW t-shirt. He has a bottle of water in one hand waiting to film while the visiting camera crew finish preparing. Then we hear the voices of Michael Barclay and Eric Raper .

Michael Barclay: Up next is Ashton Daniels who will be debuting on Monday Night Defiance next week.

Ashton Daniels: Ladies and gentlemen and the LSW locker room, welcome to my home in Miami, Florida, home of the beautiful beaches and the beautiful people. As you all know tonight is the very first edition of Monday Night Defiance... it’s a monumental occasion for everybody involved, none more so than the owner and founder Brandon Matthews. It’s a fresh start for some and a completely new career for others and last week i become one of those who will begin a brand new chapter in their wrestling careers. I finally signed for Matthews’ LSW last week after taking several months out of the business recovering from an injury and a personal issue.

He takes a sip of his water and continues.

Ashton Daniels: Well now i’ve decided to come back into the business and start a fresh here in LSW and after hearing from Brandon who wanted to bring me in, i knew this was the place for me, he had a lot of good ideas and we thrashed out terms and i signed and now i’ll sit back and relax for the next couple of days before hitting the gym and getting prepared for my big match next week whoever it’ll be against. So for tonight i’ll be watching from home, but next week, business in LSW picks up because Ashton Daniels will officially arrive, i’m putting the LSW locker room on notice and i’ll be watching carefully tonight to pick out who’s who and who will make it in this company and who i know wont and i’ll be targeting the same thing that everybody else in this business targets, the very top... the World Heavyweight Championship!

The video message ends with Ashton Daniels looking directly into the camera intensly before shifting back and relaxing in his chair.

Michael Barclay: Ashton Daniels, there. A man who will debut on next week's Defiance when I assume my collegue will be back...either that or we will have someone to replace him. Either way, I have heard some good things about Ashton Daniels and am very excited to see what this young man can bring to Last Stand Wrestling. There are a number of new comers that have joined during this week that will make their first competitive debuts next week, and it promises to be a great show will the talent that we will have avaliable.

The cameras fade up in the parking lot of the Selland Arena where we can see the various cars of the superstars on show tonight and the backstage staff. As the camera moves round we can see the large metal industrial bins, next to which is a man lent against the wall. The man's face comes into view and we can see that it is Eric Raper who is lent against the wall with a cigarette in his hand. He lifts the cigarette to his lips, closes his eyes and takes a long hard inhalation of smoke. His eyes are only openned again after the last breathe of smoke has left his lips on the way back out. Raper seems a lot more relaxed than the man we have earlier witnessed walk out from his commentary position, but his stance changes to one of defence as the back door of the arena flies open. The camera pans around as the figure coming through the doors is seen to be LSW's Head of Personel Sam Treason. Instantly Eric Raper relaxes, seeing Treason as no threat to him. Treason scans the parking lot with his eyes before noticing Raper and moves towards him. Eric Raper lifts his cigarette again, retaking his position against the wall.

Eric Raper: What do you want bitch?

Treason seems a little taken back by Raper but the fact that Eric grew up knowing Brandon Matthews, it also meant that he had already had previous meetings with Sam.

Sam Treason: Bitch? Listen here Eric if this company is going to reach the very heights it wants to, the first thing we must establish is a solid foundation as well as well-run team. You see I'm here to bring the law. It is just the first show and already your out here hiding instead of being out there with Micahel doing your job. There are hundreds of guys who would be more than happy to earn the kind of money you do, who would more than gladly jump aboard here at LSW and don't think that we would hesitate in replacing you with one of these guys. Quicker than a heartbeat your dyas with this company could be over, so be a clever boy and get your ass out there...Please?

Eric Raper drops his cigarette to the floor, slowly lowering his foot over the top of it to extingish it. Raper then begins to move towards Treason in a slow and meancing manner.

Eric Raper: Listen Sammy, just because you got a title behind you don't think that changes anything between me, you or Brandon. You are, and will always be under me. You don't give the rules, you take them.

There is a moments silence as Raper stares into the eyes of Sam Treason. Treason stres straight back aat me, but more out of neccesity than wanting to - it is clear that he is trying to save face by not backing down. This tactics seems to work though as Eric Raper brushes past him towards the door back into the arena backstage. Sam Treason watches him enter the building before starting to chase after him, making sure he gets back to work.

There is a stir in the arena as Sam Treason emerges from behind the stage curtain and marched to the top of the ramp where he stops ad gestures towards the curtain. Sure enough, a few seconds later Eric Raper appears from behind the stage curtain. He struts out in front of the crowd who are laughing and cheering in an attempt to hide his embarrasment at being brought back in by Sam Treason. He pushes past Treason at the top of the ramp, Treason trying to save face himself shouts at Raper and points towards the commentary area. Eric Raper ignores Treason as he continues down the ramp before circling the ring and taking his seat back at his desk where he puts his headset back on.

Michael Barclay: Glad you decided to come to your senses and return to do your job.

Eric Raper: I don't know what your jakking on about, I just went for a smoke bro.

Michael Barclay: So it's bro now?

Eric Raper: You seriously need to chill out.

Michael Barclay: You sure it was just a cigarette that you had?

Eric Raper: Let's just get on with the show, next up we have got the match between Ravyn Taylor and Gabriel. Peronsally I think this has to be Ravyn all the way. Have you seen the stories in the papers about this bitch? There is definately something not right in her head.

Michael Barclay: Miss Taylor does certainly seem to be a unique character, but I don't think we can write of Gabriel just yet. He is very much an accomplished wrestler, whereas Ravyn has little wrestling experience or knowledge.

Eric Raper: Who needs knowledge and experience when you can rip out eye balls with your finger nails?

Michael Barclay: Don't believe everything you read Eric.

Eric Raper: We shall see. But one thing is certain and that is my good old friend Brandon Matthews has been true to his word and made this very special night one to remember.

Michael Barclay: The very first Monday Night Defiance, you do realise we’ll always be remembered and go down in history for calling the very first Last Stand Wrestling event. I’ve broadcast many events with many different people, but i must say this is one of the most exciting nights and events of my career.

Eric Raper: And it’s not over yet though, we still have our main event to come later tonight between Austin St James and Dean Hobkirk.

Michael Barclay: But now, as you mentioned we have Ravyn Vs Gabriel, this contest should be one to watch as it’s Ravyn’s first ever wrestling match in her career.

GABRIEL Vs. RAVYN TAYLOR
Singles Match

The lights go dim, and the stage is flooded with a dark blue as ‘Remember the name’ by Fort Minor hits the PA system. Gabriel emerges through the back in a long leather coat, stopping at the ramp and kisses his two fingers, touches his head, his heart, and then points his index finger to the sky.

Denika Andersen: This match is scheduled for one fall, first making his way to the ring weighing in at two hundred and forty five pounds, from Miami Florida... GABRIEL!!!

Gabriel acknowledges the fans as he makes his way slowly down the ramp, he rolls in the ring and bounces off the ropes a few times before handing his leather coat to the official, and stands, waiting for his opponent.

Michael Barclay: This guy looks in great shape Eric.

Eric Raper: Yeah, he does but you can’t just look the part, you gotta act the part too Michael.

Darkness engulfs the arena as we hear the voice of a young woman reciting a shortened version of a classic poem...

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door -
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore, `Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven. Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore -

Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!' Quoth the raven,
`Nevermore.'

Spotlights flick on around the arena as “Open Your Eyes” by Guano Apes begins to play across the PA system. After a few moments the curtains part and Ravyn Taylor makes her way out on to the stage dressed in a fur cloak and hood, standing there for a moment raising her arms in to the air and seemingly absorbing the atmosphere while the masked man known as Nathaniel Hardcastle makes his way out on to the stage, kneeling at her feet. As the chorus of the song kicks in she walks down to the ring, leaping up on to the apron while Nathaniel holds down the ropes for her to enter the ring.

Denika Andersen: And his opponent, making her way to the ring weighing one hundred and fifteen pounds, from Hell, Michigan, being accompanied by Nathaniel Hardcastle... RAVYN!!!

Once in the ring Ravyn climbs the turnbuckles, raising her arms as though in celebration of herself before jumping back down to the ring and leaning in the corner, as Nathaniel once again kneels at her feet. She drops the cloak to the outside of the ring and points at ringside where Nathaniel rolls loyally before collapsing to a seated position in the corner and smiling up at the ring announcer and referee.

The bell rings to signal the beginning of the third ever match up on Monday Night Defiance.

Eric Raper: Here go folks, this should be a very interesting match up.

Both competitors lock up early in the middle of the ring as Nathaniel Hardcastle watches on from the outside.

Eric Raper: What’s the story with this... this masked thing who continues to be associated with Ravyn, Michael?

Michael Barclay: I have no idea, obviously we’ve all read in the news recently about this young woman Ravyn, she was in a mental institution for many years before recently being released, so expect strange things when this pair is around.

Gabriel uses his weight advantage over Ravyn to get the early advantage by shoving Ravyn to the ground.

Eric Raper: She may have been to a mental home, but she isn’t showing any signs of anything at this point in time.

Ravyn quickly gets back to her feet as she goes straight back to a lock up with Gabriel, who again with ease shoves her back down to the mat. Ravyn gets straight back up angrily and screams before running at Gabriel with a clothesline which knocks him back into the ropes, he bounces off them and Ravyn hits him with a huge slap across the face, dazing him.

Michael Barclay: I would take that statement back if i were you Eric.

Eric Raper: Consider it done.

With Gabriel stunned, Ravyn runs off the ropes again, but Gabriel shoulder blocks her to the mat. She gets back up and attempts to whip him into the ropes only for Gabriel to reverse and back body drop Ravyn. He grabs her arm and pushes her into the corner turnbuckle and chops her chest three times before acknowledging the fans. He pulls her into the middle of the ring when out of nowhere she drops and brings Gabriel down with a double leg takedown, she begins connecting with viscous rights and lefts. She then gets off Gabriel and leans over the ropes and looks down at Nathaniel who’s on the outside. The distraction allows Gabriel a chance to regroup and as Ravyn turns back around and heads towards Gabriel he rolls her up for the first count of the match.

...One!

...Two!

Kick out by Ravyn. They both quickly get back up to the feet and Gabriel whips Ravyn into the ropes and she ducks a clothesline, comes off the opposite ropes and Gabriel grabs and tosses her out of the ring.

Michael Barclay: Wow Ravyn’s showing no fear in this her first ever competitive match, but that just doesn’t seem enough at the moment. For her sake i hope Gabriel ends this one quickly.

Nathaniel checks up on Ravyn who takes a second to get her composure back as Gabriel allows her time to recuperate, while the referee begins a ten count.

Eric Raper: I think Gabriel may feel a bit sorry for Ravyn, i’m sure he could have ended this one by now, but he may even be giving her a chance.

Michael Barclay: You may be right, but in any match you’ve got to be careful, especially when there’s an unknown masked man at ringside.

Ravyn rolls back into the ring and Gabriel knees her in the midsection and hits her with a suplex, surprisingly he doesn’t go for the cover and instead grabs her hair and gets her to her feet, he looks at her and she spits in his face, which just angers Gabriel a little and he hits another suplex.

Eric Raper: This young woman is mad, she’s showing no fear despite the fact that she’s being tossed around like a rag doll by Gabriel.

Michael Barclay: He must be delighted that in his first match in LSW he’s facing young Ravyn. I mean he’s got a certain surely.

Gabriel’s facial expression changes and once again he’s showing some remorse, despite the spit in the face by Ravyn. He gives her some time to get back up after two suplex’s and even lets her throw a wild swing at him which just about connects to his jaw. He shakes it off and whips her into the turnbuckle. He looks over the top rope at Nathaniel who’s stood outside with no emotion being able to be seen from under the mask. Gabriel then turns his attention back to Ravyn and he whips her across the ring into the other turnbuckle and she falls to the mat after hitting hard into the corner.

Michael Barclay: Referee make this stop.

Eric Raper: No, don’t she shouldn’t even be in there, it should be that thing on the outside if anyone.

Gabriel looks to mean business as he paces across the ring towards an exhausted Ravyn as he looks to end this match, when all of a sudden the mask man on the outside climbs onto the apron distracting both official and Gabriel and a beaten Ravyn low blows Gabriel.

Michael Barclay: What in the name!

Eric Raper: The referee didn’t see it Michael.

Nathaniel retreats back down to the floor on the outside of the ring and the ref turns around to see both Gabriel and Ravyn down on the mat, Ravyn then out of instinct climbs to top rope and lands a splash onto Gabriel and goes for a cover.

...One!

...Two!

Kick Out by Gabriel.

Eric Raper: Oh i thought that was it.

Michael Barclay: A split second away from one of the shocks of the century.

Ravyn then distracts the referee by attempting to take the turnbuckle cover off as Nathaniel pulls Gabriel out of the ring and shoves him shoulder first into the steal ring post.

Eric Raper: This is daylight robbery.

Nathaniel rolls Gabriel back into the ring like nothing had happened and Ravyn covers Gabriel.

...One!

...Two!

Kick out again by Gabriel. Gabriel while clutching to his shoulder gets to his feet as Ravyn looks for more offence, but he counters by viscously delivering a kick to her knee and a sharp DDT.

Michael Barclay: Surely this is it.

...One!

...Two!

Ravyn gets the shoulder up before the count of three leaving the crowd out of breathe. Gabriel looks frustrated whilst still holding his shoulder, Ravyn still looks out of it, but refuses to give up. Nathaniel is looking on with intent and Gabriel keeps an eye on him as Ravyn pushes Gabriel back but he doesn’t budge and Gabriel returns the favour and shoves Ravyn backwards, but unintentionally straight into the referee and both get knocked down.

Michael Barclay: The referees down, so is Ravyn, Gabriel’s the last only one left standing in the ring.

And without an instant Nathaniel gets into the ring behind Gabriel and looks to take him out from behind, but Gabriel scouts him and gets out of the way and delivers a running knee smash to the face off Nathaniel before hitting him with the ‘Fall from Grace’.

Eric Raper: Gabriel’s managed to surely eliminate Nathaniel from this mate.

Gabriel then rolls Nathaniel out of the ring disposing of him from the match and gets the referee back to his feet as Ravyn shocks Gabriel with a roll up from behind, the referee counts.

...One!

...Two!

...Three!!!

Michael Barclay: That’s it!

Eric Raper: Ravyn’s done it, oh my god she’s done it.

Gabriel gets up in shock as Ravyn quickly rolls out of the ring.

WINNER: Ravyn

Michael Barclay: Gabriel can’t believe it Eric, he’s just been beaten by Ravyn in her very first match and he seemed to have the match in hand even with Nathaniel interfering.

Ravyn goes to the outside as Nathaniel gets up and they celebrate on the outside, while Gabriel complains to the referee.

Eric Raper: I can’t believe this, i thought Gabriel had it, but it was his mistake taking his concentration off Ravyn.

Michael Barclay: A magnificent win on the very first Defiance for Ravyn as this night gets even better.

Eric Raper: Gab is going to be pissed that he lost this one.

Michael Barclay: I'm sure he will be but that is something for another night. Right now we are being told we are heading backstage. I'm not quite sure why.

Eric Raper: Well you're just no good, are ya?

The camera's cut to where we are met with the image of two men within a office, backstage of the Selland Arena. The two men are the head of creative, Mac Brown and Xavier Hughes.

Xavier Hughes: Mac it has been a great show to start off LSW but we need make more of an impact. I was thinking establishing the Hardcore championship. What do you think?

Mac Brown: That would be great Xavier. Just think, LSW going hardcore. It would make us more of a dynamic federation, and can you think of all the ways we could be creative with it? If we're going to do something like this, we have to make it more unique than any other Hardcore title. What about a 24 hour hardcore rule?

Xavier Rubs his chin.

Xavier Hughes: 24 hour hardcore rule? I like it! The champion will never be safe from defending his title. But how do we crown our first champion? It has to be a unique match itself.

Mac knods his head in agreement.

Mac Brown: A unique match for a unique title. This is what Mr. Mathews hired us for.

Xavier Hughes: It's brainstorming time. How about a barbwire cage match? That's hardcore.

Mac looks astonished.

Mac Brown: Thats insanity. These people are paying good money for a wrestling match, not a cock fight. What about a battle royal, inferno match with the ring surrounded with glass?

With a staight face.

Xavier Hughes: And that idea is better? I don't think you should watch The Wrestler for your ideas. What about a ladder match?

Mac Brown: A ladder match huh? Well that is hardcore, but I dont feel like thats unique enough.

Xavier Hughes: Ok, well how about we add more stipulations to it. What about adding a time limit?

Mac Brown: We'll Ill be honest I only have a 15 minute attention span as it is, so I can't imagine your average wrestling fan could stand a match much longer than that.

Xavier Hughes: Alright, so we have a 15 minute time limit. So let's have whenever the belt is taken down the time starts and then it turns into a pinfalls count anywhere.

Mac Brown: Now that my friend is hardcore.

Xavier Hughes: And it starts next week on Defiance!

As Xavier Hughes and Mac Brown continue their talk the camera's fade from the scene within their office and back to the ringside area where Michael Barclay and Eric Raper are sat.

Michael Barclay: Our debut show has been absolutely hot tonight and it will keep going when we are back on television next week and now we will crown our first ever champion next week as we will have a new hardcore champion by night's end.

Eric Raper: There will be blood!

Michael Barclay: Next week we are headed to the biggest little city in the world, Reno, Nevada!

Eric Raper: That match sounds like a very innovative way to crown a champion with an unique championship like the Hardcore Championship. I cannot wait for that. And after the show I am going to hit up everything I can in Reno. You know about their nightlife there right Michael?

Michael Barclay: I do but we first will hit up the campus of University of Nevada and its Lawlor Events Center. Tickets are on sell now and are sure to be hot as LSW comes to Reno but now it is time for out main event and for that we head to the ring and to our ring announcer, the lovely Denika Andersen.

MAIN EVENT
AUSTIN ST JAMES Vs. DEAN HOBKIRK

Singles Match

The bell tolls three times as a camera is now on the announcer in the middle of the ring

Denika Andersen: The following contest is the first ever main event here at LSW!

The around the arena flicker on and off as the excitement of the fans begins to build. "45" by Shinedown starts to plays over the PA system as Austin St James makes his way out from behind the stage curtain accompanied by his girlfriend Katlyn Smith. They stand at the top of the ramp for a moment before St. James begins to walk to the ring, Katlyn just behind him.

Denika Andersen: Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Katlyn Smith...he hails from New Orleans, Louisiana...weighing in at 240 pounds...Austin St. James!

As they reach the ringside, Katlyn over takes him and walks up the steel steps and, halfway between the turnbuckles, she bends over sticking her ass out as Austin stands back. Austin St James takes a moment to admire his grilfriends behind whilst smiling before he then climbs into the ring. As Austin paces the ring a little Katlyn Smith takes the microphone from Denika and now stands in the centre of the ring.

Katlyn Smith: This is how it's done! Ladies and Gentleman, Allow me to introduce to you the Messiah of the bedroom the saint of all saints. The man who stoled my heart, He is Austin St James!

Katlyn quickly drops the microphone to the floor, letting a thud ring out around the arena before throwing her arms over Austin St James as the two of them stand in the ring awaiting St James' opponent.

Michael Barclay: Well that is one confident competitor in Austin St. James and I now assume that our ring announcer does not do a great enough job in introducing him.

Eric Raper: Damn right she doesn't! Miss Smith did a better job with that and that broad better takes notes.

Michael Barclay: Very respectful Eric.

Eric Raper: Is that supposed to make me feel bad for the announcer or something?

"My Life For Hire" by a day to remember plays as Dean comes out from behind the curtain.

Denika Andersen: And his opponent...he hails from Seaham, England...weighing in tonight at 175 pounds...Dean Hobkirk!

Dean comes down the aisle slapping the fans hands. He slides into the ring and goes to the nearest corner and gets the crown pumped.

Michael Barclay: This is a youngster here. Dean is only 21, he will turn 22 later this summer. He's a great young talent and will sure give us some exciting action here in LSW!

Eric Raper: Yeah, yeah, yeah but you also forget that he is giving up a size advantage tonight and you know what? Austin is not that old either unlike you old man! It is his birthday today in fact and what a great gift it will be when he wins tonight and make history as to be the man to with the first ever main here on Defiance!

He bounces around a bit until the music stops and the referee calls for the bell. The bell tolls three times to start the match.

Michael Barclay: It's go time now Eric!

The competitors circle each other around the ring trying to gain an advantage. Then they meet in the middle of the ring in an elbow and collar tie-up. Dean struggles to get an advantage as Austin has clearly taken control and shoves him to the mat. Katlyn cheers for her man.

Eric Raper: I told you. He is too strong for Dean. Dean should just give it up right now. I would not think any less of Hobkirk to do that.

Dean shrugs it off and gets back to his feet. The two meet again in another elbow and collar and again Austin shoves him down. This time Dean hops right up and goes back at Austin. Austin goes in for another tie-up but this time Dean gets him in a hip toss and brings him down the mat. The two quickly gets up but Dean hits him with a dropkick. Austin gets up again and again Dean hits him with another dropkick. Once again Austin tries to stay on his feet but is meet with a final dropkick and then Austin rolls out to the floor where he is met by Katlyn while Dean is pumped in the middle of the ring.

Michael Barclay: Strength may be a huge key in this match but you are forgetting the quickness of a guy Dean's size. As you can see he has frustrated Austin.

Austin shurgs it off as he gets back into the ring. They go in for another tie-up but this time Austin catches him with a knee into the abdomen. Austin then hits him with a hard forearm smash on Dean's back. Austin then whips Dean into the ropes and hits him with an elbow to the jaw. Austin then begins taking the boots to him as he is stomping Dean while he is down. Austin takes further controls as he picks Dean off the mat and whips him hard into the corner. While in the corner Austin begins hitting Dean with some stiff kicks to the ribs. He then drives his shoulder into the abdomen of Dean Hobkirk.

Eric Raper: Austin is controlling the tempo of this match. He is going to wear down Dean by any means necessary and he is doing a great job. You have to admit Michael.

Michael Barclay: I will admit, he has slowed the pace down considerably and if he keeps this up this could be Austin St. James' match to take.

Austin takes Dean out of the corner and whips him into the ropes. Austin catches him in a sideslam position but hits him with a backbreak and then goes for a pin.

Dean tries to get Austin this feet but Austin fights back while getting to his feet by punching Dean in the gut. Eric Raper: You need to calm down! Are you jealous that you don't have a woman to help you whatever the hell you do outside of announcing this show.

Michael Barclay: I cannot believe I signed on for this.

Austin kicks out at the nick of time. Dean puts the boots to Austin to keep him down on the mat. Then Dean gets out of the ring and heads to the top rope.

Eric Raper: You know I don't think this is a great idea for Dean. He is going to waste time and allow Austin to gather himself. Oh well just another reason that Austin is going to win this match. {sarcastically} Go Dean!

Michael Barclay: Can you be anymore biased tonight?

Dean is on the top rope and leaps off, trying to hit a swanton but Austin rolls out of the way.

Eric Raper: Crash and burn! Told you Mikey.

Denika Andersen: Here is your winner...Dean Hobkirk!

"My Life For Hire" plays as Dean is on his knees and the referee raises his arm in victory.

WINNER: Dean Hobkirk

Michael Barclay: What a way to end our premiere episode of LSW Defiance! Dean Hobkirk picks up a hard fought victory over Austin St. James.

Eric Raper: Austin wasn't totally on his game and I am bloody sure that the next time these two meet he will be more prepared that he was today.

Michael Barclay: He should be. Austin seemed as though he just gave up at the end.

As Dean Hobkirk celebrates in the ring, his music is suddenly cut. Replacing it, Oasis' "Shock of the Lightning" blasts through the arena, causing some confusion in the crowd. From the back, Matthew Triggs walks onto centre stage, microphone in his left hand. He is wearing a black suit with a white "Affliction" T-shirt underneath, and smiles to the crowd before raising his right hand up into the air, sending a flurry of fireworks into the ceiling.

Matthew Triggs: Ladies and Gentlemen, Ladies and Gentlemen of Last Stand Wrestling - please, allow me to Welcome you.... TO TRIGGS COUNTY!

The crowd remain at a murmur, refusing to be engaged by Triggs so far.

Matthew Triggs: And you see, in Triggs County, I am your Governor of Greatness, I am the Manchester Mauler, I am Matthew Triggs! And let me tell you all something about Triggs County... in Triggs County, piss poor wrestling like what we just saw is inexcusable, and is punishable by Triggs Lock. Now I'm no expert on the backstage workings or what goes in the mind of the General Manager, but I do know he's a Goddamn smart guy by hiring the number one free agent in the English speaking world... me.

Some of the crowd begin to cheer at Triggs, although the reception is by no means as loud as it could be.

Matthew Triggs: You see folks, you come here to be entertained, to relax, but most importantly - to see a bloody good wrestling match. Oh, and I promise to give you all of that. You deserve better than mediocre, you deserve better than what that "Main Event" - and I use the term loosely was. Now, whether that deserves championships or not... whatever, I don't really care about. What I do care about is beating seven shades of shit out of anyone and everyone who dares to take advantage of Mr Matthews and perform below par... BECAUSE THAT'S HOW WE DO IT.... IN TRIGGS COUNTY!

His music hits again, and the crowd rise to their feet in appreciation of their newest hero, as Hobkirk still stands bemused in the ring.

Michael Barclay: A very interesting start to thing in Last Stand Wrestling, I think you must agree Eric.

Eric Raper: I don't want to agree with you, but I am very excited about next week now. Ashton Daniels will debut, Matthew Triggs seems to be up for a fight and then we have the Hardcore Title match. This is going to be ace.

Michael Barclay: It certainly promises to be a great show, and we will see you there Ladies and Gentlemen and next Monday Last Stand Wrestling comes to you Live from the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada...be sure to tune in.

Eric Raper: Yeah, you don't want to miss it!

The Last Stand Wrestling video begins to play on the video wall as the camera's show shots from around the arena of the cheering fans. "Sound of Madness" is once again playing from around the arena as the fans cheer a good, albeit shot, night of entertainment at the hands of LSW. Surely...one of many more to come.
